If you’re interested in playing the Hitman beta, you’ll have to make sure you have a constant internet connection.

IO Interactive released a statement saying that players “will need an internet connection to download and play the Beta throughout the Beta period”. Questions were raised as to whether this would carry over to the main game, and a Square Enix representative quickly shut down that notion. (source)

Internet connection will be required to access certain live elements within the full game, though, with the content available no matter how you purchase the game. Those live elements will be new weapons and disguises, as well as contracts created by the community.

The closed beta for Hitman starts February 12th(today) for PlayStation 4, and starts on the PC February 19th. The Xbox One will not be getting a beta.
Hitman’s release date is March 11th, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
