id Software is creating the first major installment in the Doom franchise since 2004. That’s a pretty big deal.
What’s an even bigger deal is hearing how long it’ll take to beat the game. Unless you’re into the open world or RPG genre, games taking 15+ hours to beat is still not a industry standard.
In the First Person Shooter(FPS) category, it’s pretty uncommon to see a campaign over 10 hours. For id Software, however, they are boasting Doom will launch with a 13+ hour campaign.
The information was confirmed via Twitter, and they do attribute that it’ll vary depending on the difficulty, but the team is averaging about 13 hours at the moment. On top of the difficulty, we have to remember that each gamer has a different skill level, so what might take one person 6 hours, might take another 20.
