A free, modified version of Xbox exclusive, Forza Motorsport 6 coming to Windows 10 will not support cross-platform play.
Aaron Greenberg, head of Xbox Games Marketing took to Twitter to answer a question concerning cross-play, explaining that Apex is designed specifically for Windows 10 and that it would take time to enable cross-platform play.
Apex will be a curated experience – it’s an altered version of Forza Motorsport 6, instead featuring 12 career events with the addition of an objective and scoring system. As this is an altered version of an existing Xbox One title, cross-platform play is unlikely, as generally speaking, cross-platform play allows for players on different platforms to play the same game.
Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is slated for release in Spring for Windows 10.
