Detective Pikachu is one of the weirdest announcements that Nintendo has made over the past few years.
A spin off to the popular Pokémon franchise, Detective Pikachu features the most iconic Pokémon solving mysteries. If that wasn’t strange enough(lets be real, Pokémon has done much worse), Detective Pikachu talks like a normal person.
Originally reserved for Meowth in the anime, Pikachu will take over the reigns and be one of the only talking Pokémon we have ever seen.
Although the game doesn’t have a lot of information, we can be pretty certain that It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Danny DeVito will not be voicing the electric mouse.
The internet had gathered over 50,000 signatures for a petition to get DeVito on board, and at a recent event someone got up to ask him if he’d consider it. He responded with “No, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Promptly followed by him asking what Pokémon was. (source)
