After an ongoing legal battle between Trendy Entertainment and Ark: Survival Evolved developer Studio Wildcard, the two companies have come to a settlement.

The two studios came to a settlement in a behind closed doors mediation. While details are scarce, last week, Studio Wildcard co-founder, Susan Stieglitz revealed Trendy was suing for $600 million. According to a since deleted post on Reddit (via Kotaku), the final settlement was for “40.”

Beginning in December, Trendy sued Wildcard and Stieglitz’ husband Jeremy, a designer who formally worked for Trendy, for breach of contract. According to Trendy, Jeremy Stieglitz broke the non-compete clause of his contract by poaching developers from Trendy and working on Ark: Survival Evolved while still employed with them. He was a creative director at the company before leaving in the summer of 2014.

While Trendy Entertainment is best known as the developer behind the Dungeon Defenders games, Wildcard and Ark: Survival Evolved have experienced continued success with the pre-release version of the game on both Steam Early Access and Xbox One Game Preview.

As for how the settlement will affect the continued development of Ark: Survival Evolved, only time will tell. When more information comes out, you’ll find it all right here on Gamespresso.
