A $500,000 goal was mere chump change for fans of Koji Igarashi, the mind behind Castlevania.

When his Kickstarter went live earlier this year, Igarashi was surely not expecting to get close to $5.5 million in backing. The community has managed to smash all the stretch goals, and the game will be making its way to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Wii U, and PlayStation Vita.

Along with the additional platforms, players can be excited for a roguelike dungeon, an additional character to play as, and so much more.

Although it’s rare to see a Grid Map (or Caramel Map) for a game, Igarashi was eager to show backers that they are making progress on the game.

The map is used to check the sizing of the levels, where they should be putting monsters, among other things. It’s a vital part of development that was shared publicly in the most recent Kickstarter update. You can find the video at the update page for the Kickstarter, or down below.

It’s looking great !! I’m absolutely dying to play this . Has the team reached an eta? I’ve been a fan since I was just a kid playing on the nes. I absolutely adore beautiful 2d fluid hand drawn animation and you all have my admiration and redpect for pushing this gorgeous game and the genre to new heights in an age where laziness and cg is the norm . I love it , thank you from the bottom of my heart. All the best , sincerely Chris P.
