With only a few weeks left until E3 season returns, rumors of games and hardware are starting to crop up and circulate around the internet. One such is the reveal of Resident Evil 7 by Japanese analyst Serkan Toto. Toto has been translating and bringing the news to western folks for years now.

According to Toto, Resident Evil 7 will be returning ‘to RE’s horror roots’. Not exactly a reboot, but hard reset to bring back more deeper psychological horror. Furthermore, Toto mentioned that the designer, Jordan Amano who worked on P.T. and Metal Gear Solid V is a part of the team.

Obviously take what is said with a grain of salt. It is very interesting and pleasing to hear a return to form for the series. Something many fans have been calling for and something Capcom may have started reciprocating after the success of Resident Evil: Revelations 2. As of now, there’s no release date, but we’ll be looking forward to any word during E3.
