Sonic the Hedgehog’s official Twitter (run by Aaron Webber) is providing fans with hints on the series’ future.
The account usually provides humorous tweets involving the series, but also seems to be providing hints for an upcoming title. The most recent hint involves the following image:

DualShockers noticed of a key hashtag tied to the post: “#we know you all want a teaser #but maybe they’re already there – have you looked hard enough?” This points to something being hidden within the image.
Aaron Webber confirmed this on Twitter, and eliminated what could have been a clue: the blue squares in the upper right corner of the image:
Great eye, but those squares in the Sonic post are just for design. The hint you're looking for is elsewhere. 🙂

Hopefully we will receive more information soon. Until then, it is up to fans of the series to solve the mystery behind the image. The series is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, so perhaps all these hints will lead to a new title in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
