If there is one thing sports games are not known for, it’s the story behind them. EA is looking to change all of that with FIFA 17, which will feature a game mode called “The Journey”.
The new mode focuses around Alex Hunter, a famous soccer player developed just for the FIFA video games. The story focuses around how he rises into professional soccer, and how that effects him psychologically. Breaking into sports is no easy task, and Alex Hunter doesn’t look like he will have his career handed to him.
The new FIFA will run on the frostbite engine, featured in Mirror’s Edge Catalyst among other, newer, games.
FIFA 17 also introduces Premiere League Managers for the first time in the franchise, bringing another whole dimension to light in the FIFA games.
