It has been announced that Blizzard’s new shooter, Overwatch, has reached over 10 million players.

It was recently announced on Twitter that over 10 million people are playing Overwatch. This is quite the milestone, as 10 million players is a massive amount of people playing the game. One should note, however, that this may not be the exact number of unique users, as the game is available on three different platforms. Since there is no way to know if the same person is playing the game on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, there is no way to get the exact number of unique users.

Despite having reached 10 million players, Blizzard has been cracking down hard on both cheaters and ragequitters. Those who are caught cheating will be permanently banned from the game. The ban is quite effective, as a change in hard disk drive IDs, MAC Address, and more is not enough to avoid the developer’s anticheat system. Ragequitters also receive punishment, as those who consistently leave games early will receive a 75% EXP penalty on their future games.

Overwatch is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You can check out Gamespresso’s review of the title here.
