It has been announced that those who pre-order Gears of War 4 will also receive copies of the previous Gears of War titles for free.
Series director Rod Fergusson announced on Twitter that those who buy Gears of War 4 will receive all of the Gears of War games that are available on the Xbox 360. Though the games were not mentioned by name, this offer should include Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, and Gears of War: Judgment. Fergusson did not mention how long the offer will last.

Gears of War 4 did make an appearance at E3 this past week as a part of Microsoft’s press conference. A gameplay video was shown, showing that the title retains the classic Gears of War gameplay. The game still as the over-the-shoulder third-person perspective, and still contains the same brutal action that the original games were known for. The title takes place many years after Gears of War 3, and this time stars the son of the original trilogy’s protagonist, J.D. Fenix, who must deal with a new threat to humanity’s survival.
Gears of War 4 will release on October 11th. The game will be available on the Xbox One and PCs running Windows 10.
