Almost five years since it released, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is getting the remaster treatment in the form of Skyrim Special Edition. Shown off during Bethesda’s E3 conference, the remaster fans have been asking for will hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One October 28.
Making of the tail-end of a video from Game Director Todd Howard (skip to the 3 minute mark), the remaster will feature updated graphics including volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field screen-space reflections, new snow shaders, and new water shaders. The Special Edition will even include console mod support. Much like Xbox One players can already do with Fallout 4, gamers can browse, download, and rate mods all from within the game through a Bethesda supported marketplace.
