Whoops we missed one! Before the video release for the Aztecs were shown, the Chinese also received a highlight video for Civilization VI. Led by Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the Chinese civilization will primarily focus on having the Great Wall of China up and running as fast as they can in order to gain to become a defensive fortress and reap an incredible amount of resources.
Emperor Qin Shi Huang was an important figure in Chinese history, as the man who unified all the states together and linking the states’ walls together to make the famous Great Wall of China. He is also responsible for the construction of the famous Terracotta Army.
Under Qin Shi Huang’s guidance, the Chinese have the ability ‘Dynastic Cycles’ which gives bonus Eureka and Inspiration events. Not only that, but builders receive an extra use. This helps the Chinese build tile improvements more quickly than other civilizations.
The unique unit for the Chinese is the Crouching Tiger Cannon. This weapon is a strong early game unit that can be built without the need for specific materials. Originally used for fireworks, it was later repurposed into a short ranged weapon in combat in history.
Finally, as mentioned, the Great Wall of China returns but as a tile improvement. This monument provides the player with additional gold, defensive capabilities and extra tourism and culture.
Civilization VI will be available on October 21st, 2016. The Chinese will be available from launch with the Aztecs being locked away for 3 months.
