We didn’t know what to expect when it was announced that Doom was being rebooted. With Bethesda at the helm, however, things looked very positive. Now that it has been released for a couple months, the gaming world seems to be pleased with the action packed results. Now, Bethesda has kept its word on some updates for this shooter, making it even better than it was before.
Doom will now have full Vulkan support on PC. What exactly does this mean? Bethesda put out information on this with its announcement on their website. “Ultimately the biggest benefit will be high framerates,” the company stated. “There are a number of game-focused reasons super-high framerates matter, but primarily its movement and player feel. The game just feels amazing running that fast, so we made it a priority to try to really exploit the available hardware on PC.”
It should also be noted that Vulkan should also support those who are playing Doom with older GPUs. Those that are should also see a noticeable difference. They may not get the highest quality framerate compared to others, but it will still be quite the improvement.
Doom is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC now.
