Fans of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series will be pleased to hear that during San Dieago Comic-Con this year, Marvel announced plans to bring updated versions of the Ultimate Alliance games to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC later in the week.

In an interview with the Marvel website, executive producer Mike Jones spoke about some of the features and improvements included in the updated versions of the Ultimate Alliance games. There will be tweaks to the user interface, some graphical improvements and performance enhancements. Despite the changes, Marvel has assured that the games will remain faithful to the original 2006 and 2009 versions.

Mike Jones also teased that the re-releases can herald a new beginning for the franchise, stating that “anything is possible.”

A staple of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance franchise is the couch co-op. Mike Jones also informed that “More and more games these days are strictly online co-op but Ultimate Alliance has both: online and local co-op.” Players will be able to find a group via online matchmaking or, if they want to, they can go it alone, although Jones has iterated that Ultimate Alliance “really comes to life as a cooperative experience.”

Both Ultimate Alliance and Ultimate Alliance 2 will be available digitally on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam starting July 26th for $39.99 each or as a bundle together for $59.99.
