It may be hard to believe, but Lara Croft first hit our television screens and our hearts 20 years ago in the original Tomb Raider. Facing wild animals, climbing through caverns, finding hidden treasures, it all began with that first game. Now Square Enix is going to help fans of the series, old and new, celebrate this milestone with a new release and content for Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Owners of Sony’s latest console, the PS4, have been waiting for Rise of the Tomb Raider to be available for them. Now, it has finally been announced to release for the device this October 11th. This release will also be in the form of the 20 Year Celebration Edition. With this, everyone who purchases the game will gain all of the content form the Season Pass. This DLC Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch, Cold Darkness Awakened, all outfits, weapons, and Expedition Cards. An art book will also be given to anyone who pre-orders the title.
In addition to this, Rise of the Tomb Raider will also have brand new content in the form of an Extreme Survivor difficulty and three new pieces of playable content. The first of these three, Blood Ties, is combat free and will support PlayStation VR. The other two are a zombie infested action chapter and a co-op Endurance mode, respectively.
Anyone who has the Season Pass for Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One and PC will get this new content as well.
