When most people think of Nintendo hits, they think of Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and other long time franchises. For the past year, however, we have seen a brand new IP win over the hearts of Nintendo fans and other gamers all around. This brand new IP is Splatoon. Who knew being a squid and painting the world around you could be so much fun.
Part of the joy of Splatoon are the community competitions, known as Splatfests. Each one has seen split teams battle it out in Inkopolis for special prizes and bragging rights. Now, they have sadly announced that the next Splatfest will be the last for Splatoon. As an appropriate final matchup, the theme will be Team Callie vs Team Marie. It’s a Squid Sisters Showdown to end them all.
The maps used will be determined by popular vote. This will begin on Monday, July 4th at 7:00 pm PT with the official in game announcement and go on until the 12th. The actual Splatfest will be from 2:00 am PT, July 22nd, to 2:00 am PT, July 24th. The decisions ahead of you may be tough, but it must be done to show your love and support for Splatoon and the final Splatfest.
