QuakeCon is happening this weekend. With more news on the future of Bethesda titles hopefully coming our way, there have also been celebrations. PlayStation is hosting a sale for the event with Bethesda games at record low prices. Possibly the best of all, however, is the launch of the first major expansion for Doom, Unto the Evil. The player’s trip to hell just got a lot more intense.

During the festivities at QuakeCon, a trailer was released showing off all of the features that included with the Unto the Evil expansion for Doom. In a small twist, Bethesda revealed that this DLC was also being released one day early. It may not seem like much, but for gamers who wait down to the very last second for launches, it is a great gesture.

Added to Doom with Unto the Evil are the following:

  • 3 new multiplayer map
  • new weapon, UAC EMG Pistol
  • new item, Kinetic Mine
  • new demon, The Harvestor

Developer, id Software has also created a system which allows anyone to be able to play on the new maps, as long as at least one person from their party has the expansion. Seems like a good way to make friends fast. The Unto the Evil expansion can be purchased standalone for $15 or included in Doom’s Season Pass for $40.
