Mafia III tells the revenge story of Lincoln Clay and his bloody war against the Italian mafia. When it comes to what exactly Lincoln is seeking revenge for, look no further than the Gamescom trailer for the upcoming game.
Called The Heist, the trailer begins with Lincoln working with the Italians to rob the Federal Reserve. “The Mafia took so much from so many in its rise to power in New Bordeaux. When Lincoln Clay came back from Vietnam, his family was all he had. One night would change it all,” the trailer description reads.
Along with the heist itself, which seems to go horribly wrong, the trailer showcases what looks to be the New Bordeaux version of Mardi Gras. With some car chases, explosions, a speedboat in the sewer, and lots of money, everything seems to be looking up, if while being a bit chaotic. Unfortunately, that just doesn’t add up to the best start of a revenge story, and celebrations get cut short.
