A newly released trailer shows off the upcoming Blood Ties DLC coming to Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Blood Ties takes place in Croft Manor, an area seen in cutscenes of Rise of the Tomb Raider, but never is allowed to be explored by the player. Lara will explore the manor and interact with objects, learning the history and secrets of Croft legacy. No combat takes place in this part of the DLC, but the accompanying “Lara’s Nightmare” is quite the opposite.
In Lara’s Nightmare, she must fight off hoards of zombies attacking the manor.
The Blood Ties storyline is also playable in a first-person perspective on the PlayStation VR. The Blood Ties and Lara’s Nightmare DLC will arrive on October 11, alongside the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider on PlayStation 4, after nearly a year of console exclusivity on Xbox One. Players who purchase the game on PS4 will receive all of the released DLC up until this point, including Blood Ties and Lara’s Nightmare. A new co-op survival mode will also be available on the same day.
Those who own the season pass on either Xbox One or PC will receive the new content for free upon release.
