Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment have revealed exclusive items coming to the console editions of Star Trek Online.
Players who download the game on Xbox One will receive a free Tier 1 Blockade Runner Escort Steamrunner-class Starship. On PlayStation 4, a free Tier 1 Andorian Light Escort will be available. Both items will be free to download for only two weeks after the game launches.
Also, PlayStation Plus owners will receive a free Wrath of Khan Starfleet uniform. In addition, content packs will be available at launch. Players can outfit themselves with a Federation, Klingon, or Romulan pack filled with ships and uniforms for their faction.
Star Trek Online is a free-to-play MMO RPG that first launch on Windows in 2010. The console versions will include an interface redesign, lighting improvements, and all content form the PC version. Recently, a developer walkthrough of the game was released showing off the console differences.
“One of the biggest challenges we faced when creating Star Trek Online for console was the control scheme… We spent weeks figuring out a control layout that felt smooth, and interactive, and gave players easy access to all the abilities available in the PC version of the game,” Executive Producer Steve Ricossa explained.
Star Trek Online is slated to launch Fall of this year on PS4 and Xbox One.
