In an interview by Gamereactor with Warner Brother’s Marketing Game Manager, Brian Goodman, new information surrounding the upcoming fighting game Injustice 2 was revealed. The information pertains to unannounced features such as multiplayer co-op and branching stories.

According to Goodman, the team wanted to change how the structure of the story mode is played out. This would hopefully get players to return to the story mode and play it again. “Stucture-wise, it’s going to be a little bit different,” Goodman stated, “There’s going to be definitely an opportunity to go through the story mode, and we’re definitely going to leave them wanting to go through it perhaps a second time.”

Goodman explained further, “We’re going to have a number of single-player modes; we’re really trying to round out our offerings for people who enjoy our games as single players. Of course, a whole suite of online modes as well, both competitive and potentially some co-operative modes as well.”

It was noted that the decision to include branching storylines within the game was not only for the sake of giving players replayability, but to enable the team to revisit the Infamous: Gods Among Us universe. It has potential for even more compelling storylines from the originally linear experience in the first game.

Injustice 2 is slated for a release sometime 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It was teased that the game could be coming ‘sooner than we know’.
