Even with the live orchestra, a Norse Kratos, and all the frost giant slaying goodness in the God of War reveal at this past E3, the most shocking part of the game’s demo was still the fact that our new Kratos is a tough, but loving, father. Kratos’ son played a central role in the demo we saw, and will likely be a large part of the game. Strangely enough however, the developers at Sony Santa Monica have yet to give him a name.

Creative Director Cory Barlog took to Twitter to answer fan questions, one of which pertained to the son’s name.

God of War is tentatively expected sometime in 2017. The fact the son doesn’t have a name yet could point to him in fact not being an integral part of the story. It could mean Santa Monica is going with something akin to The Road, telling a story just with ‘the man’ and ‘the boy.’ Or it could just mean they haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Regardless, as we learn more about the next God of War, you will find it all right here on Gamespresso. Other than the norse setting, the composer (Battlestar Galactica and The Walking Dead’s Bear McCreary), and the fact that Christopher Judge will be voicing Kratos, we actually still know very little about Sony Santa Monica’s latest.
