Global Game Jam has announced that they are partnering with the Game Developers Conference to offer 25 Global Game Jam volunteers a pass to attend GDC 2017 this coming February/March.

For the third year in a row, the Global Game Jam and the Game Developers Conference are offering scholarships to GGJ organizers, regional organizers, and other volunteers with the goal of rewarding participants from around the world where none or a few GGJ sites normally participate. These scholarships give participants the opportunity to further their career development through networking and on-site learning at the Game Developers Conference.

“Last year, we we’re able to offer scholars from Cuba, Zambia, Pakistan, and a number of other areas the opportunity to attend GDC,” Global Game Jam president and founder Gorm Lai states. “By offering these scholarships, we hope that our volunteers are able to bring the information that they learn from the conference to grow their local game development communities and further their own careers.”

Those who are interested can apply for a scholarship by filling out a application and survey. The application deadline is December 1st. Decisions will be made as early as January 1st.

The Game Developer Conference will take place between February 27th and March 3rd, 2017.
