The world of soccer management apps is a competitive business. Lovers of the game have a number of great titles to choose from as a way to challenge their technical nous. PES Club Manager is one such games, and it has just been given a major new update. Version 1.4.0 brings new voice commentary, licensed clubs, teams and player data, along with a whole host of other improvements designed to keep the soccer management game accurate to the current season.

Konami has described the improvements on the official web page for the game. PES Club Manager has been downloaded more than 17 million times worldwide, and includes commentary in 9 different languages.

Version 1.4.0 brings up-to-date club rosters for Arsenal F.C., Liverpool F.C., FC Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund, Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, Sport Club Corinthians Paulista and Club Atlético River Plate. Recognizable commentators from England, Italy and Germany among other countries bring an extra element of realism to the game with commentary elements that also feature in the console version of PES 17.

New leagues from South America are included as well as a number of new features that include expanded National team licenses, and a “study abroad” event where managers can loan out youth soccer players to gain XP.

It faces stiff opposition in the mobile app market, and being one of the few “freemium” games for this genre may put people off. It needn’t, the purchase of in-game coins is only for the impatient. It doesn’t affect your chances of winning, and with the content included in this update it may actually push PES Club Manager further up the ladder of desirability. A Twitter event is also currently underway where you can be gifted coins for the number of re-tweets you can get under the hashtag #PESCM-RT  on the games official Twitter feed.
