The seamless multiplayer feature in Watch Dogs 2 has now been added via an update.

Despite spending an entire week after launch with the mode being completely absent from the game, Title Update 1.05 has been released and adds support for seamless multiplayer. With the in-game multiplayer app, you can invite people to join you for some co-op, or you can hack into another player’s game.

This is all assuming that the update goes according to plan, however, since getting the seamless multiplayer working has been causing Ubisoft some issues. On Reddit, a Ubisoft representative said “We’ll continue to monitor the online stability of the seamless multiplayer features and should everything continue to run smoothly, we’ll activate the final phase of seamless multiplayer, unlocking the following additional multiplayer features: Bounty mode without the use of the app (will occur seamlessly in-world), and encountering other players in the world to complete co-op missions and DedSec events with.”

There are also other fixes included in the 1.05 update, but detailed patch notes were not released. The only information given is that the update “also contains important crash fixes that improve stability.”

Watch Dogs 2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and will release on PC on November 29th.
