Details for the 2017 Halo World Championship series have released. The announcement came on the game’s official website and reads, “Today, we’re extremely excited to announce the Halo World Championship 2017, which will serve yet again as a true crown jewel in the Halo eSports calendar. The Halo World Championship 2017 will showcase the best Halo talent on Earth, all fighting to prove that no Spartan stands taller than they do.”

This event will see some of the world’s best teams competing for one of the twelve spots for a chance at a prize pool valued at over 1 million dollars. These spots will consist of seven teams from North America, three from Europe, and one from each Latin America/South America, and Australia/New Zealand regions.

Qualifiers for this year’s championship series will begin in January of next year and will feature both open LAN and online events. Information on how to register for the 2017 Championship series, as well as the dates of each qualifier, can be found on the game’s official website.

The 2016 World Championships took place at Raleigh Studios Hollywood in California and featured a prize pool of $2,500,000. North American eSports team, Counter Logic Gaming took home that year’s championship along with $1,000,000 in prize money. This year’s series will see some of the  best eSports teams from around the world competing to take home the championship title.
