The final DLC of the season for DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront is now available. After Outer Rim, Cloud City and the Death Star comes the chance to battle on the planet Scarif from the coming blockbuster movie Rogue One.

Four new maps set on the planet and in space above, are included in the content. A new game mode entitled “Infiltration” is the biggest addition. This new mode has three phases: The Rebels must first escort a new vehicle, the U-Wing bomber, to a shield generator and destroy it. Then they are tasked with creating a diversion of blowing up an Imperial cargo ship. The final phase is then to attempt to steal Empire secrets and make good their escape. The Empire’s soldiers will obviously need to stop the Rebels at every turn.

Two new blasters also feature as part of Rogue One: Scarif. The customisable A180 blaster pistol which replaces star cards with different blaster settings, and the DT-29 pistol which features ammunition rather than the overheat system of the other in game weapons.

As with the previous DLC’s, two new heroes will be available to select. The major characters of Jyn Erso and Director Krennic from the movie will be part of the action for players, both coming with their own special abilities.

This new content comes alongside a patch which has various tweaks and gameplay changes including spawn points on certain maps, added VR compatibility and hero ability adjustments. The full list of patch notes can be found here.

Star Wars Battlefront has been a great success story in sales for EA and DICE. The game has received its fair share of criticism from fans and critics alike for its lack of depth of content, but this won’t have been too much of a worry for the developers. The game continues to be a solid seller even over a year since its initial release. The announcement of a sequel promises much, especially with the vast array of material the franchise has at its disposal within the popular Star Wars universe. For now though, players can blast away to their hearts content on the new world of Scarif, giving us a glimpse into one of the settings for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story which hits cinemas from December 14th.
