Frank O’Connor, 343 Industries’ Franchise Development Director, has stated in a comment on a NeoGAF post that the Xbox One Scorpio is “beefier than I expected.”

With the Xbox One Scorpio expected to release before the end of this year, it makes sense that several developers are getting their hands on the upgraded console ahead of time in order to have some games ready that take advantage of the hardware. One of those developers is 343 Industries, as Frank O’Connor has commented on his reactions to the upgraded console’s specs.

Responding to a NeoGAF user who was asking about Xbox One Scorpio rumors, O’Connor wrote “Haha, although I probably “know” in that I might have seen it in a slide or something, it’s literally not something I have time to think about now and I actually couldn’t remember whatever specs I’ve been exposed to even if I was tortured. I literally couldn’t leak or answer a question that went beyond “Can I do this? Does it support that? How many of these could it render?”

While a lot of what he said appears to be an attempt at not giving away any actual details, the most tangible bit of insight that he gave us is this: “What I do remember is that it’s beefier than I expected.”

Of course, we don’t know the actual specs of the hardware yet, but with it scheduled to release this year we should be finding out more soon.
