A new version of Rayman Legends, known as the Definitive Edition, will release on the Nintendo Switch. Michel Ancel, the creator of the Rayman franchise, had a lot to say about this new version during a recent interview with Nintendo UK.

According to Ancel, Rayman and the Nintendo Switch are a match made in heaven. As he puts it, “The colorful universe and the Rayman Spirit go perfectly with Nintendo’s Spirit.”  Ancel believes that Nintendo Switch is “a modern, powerful and social-oriented, cooperative console” that will mesh perfectly with Rayman Legend’s co-op mode. Ancel explains, “The Switch version is kind of the Rayman Legends ultimate edition.”

Furthermore, Ancel promises that Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition will include several surprises not found in other versions of the game. Aside from obvious extras such as Mario and Luigi costumes, the game will contain unique features and competitive modes. For example, players can link their Nintendo Switch consoles while playing Kung Foot, which will most probably surpass the four player restriction currently in Rayman Legends. Finally, Ancel hints that the Definitive Edition will contain several other surprises that revolve around multiplayer functionality.
