Are you excited for E3 2013? I know DigiBytes is and we took the time to compile a list of what we think are the biggest games of E3 this year. You know, the ones you should definitely be on the watch for?!

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (PC, Wii U, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360) is an upcoming action-adventure game, and the sixth main installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. A sequel to 2012’s Assassin’s Creed III due to the progression of the modern day storyline, the game will tell the story of Edward Kenway – father to Haytham Kenway, grandfather to Ratonhnhaké:ton and an ancestor of William and Desmond Miles. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be set primarily on and around the islands in the Caribbean Sea during the Golden Age of Piracy in the early 18th century, with three major cities consisting of Havana, Nassau and Kingston.
Battlefield 4 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) is the next installment of the Battlefield series and the sequel to Battlefield 3. It is currently being developed by Digital Illusions CE for next-gen consoles but will also be scaled down so as to be compatible to current generation consoles. The game was announced by Frank Gibeau, President of Electronic Arts.
Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC) is the next game in the Call of Duty series set to release in 2013. The new Infinity Ward team has been working on an entirely new storyline and engine, which is said to bring Call of Duty to the next Generation.
Destiny (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360) is an upcoming video game being developed by Bungie. The game will be an action role-playing first-person shooter in a “mythic science fiction” open world setting. As part of a ten-year publishing deal with Activision, they are expecting that the project will have a ten-year life cycle from its launch.
Dragon Age III: Inquisition (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), currently in development by BioWare, is an upcoming sequel to Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II. BioWare is planning on fusing elements of both earlier games in the series into the creation of Dragon Age III.
InFamous: Second Son (PS4) is an upcoming game for the upcoming PlayStation 4, and the 3rd installment in the inFamous series. It features a new setting, a new protagonist, and a seemingly-totalitarian government controlled by the police. It is set seven years after the world of Cole MacGrath and stars a new protagonist, Delsin Rowe. The game was first announced at Sony’s PlayStation 4 Press Conference on February 20th, 2013, after officially announcing the successor to the PlayStation 3, and revealing the games that will be coming out for the console when it launches Holiday 2013.
Killzone: Shadow Fall (PS4) is set 30 years after the events of Killzone 3. Life on the Helghast home planet Helghan has been left in ruins during the war, however, the war still goes on. The Interplanetary Strategic Alliance (ISA) allows Helghast refugees to resettle on planet Vekta. The Vektan and Helghast factions are living in a city which is divided by a large security wall. The Helghast are fighting for their right to exist, while the Vektans are fighting for survival.
Madden 25 (PS3, Xbox 360) was announced in early 2013 as the next installment of the Madden series and will be released on August 27, 2013. As this installment is the 25th anniversary of the series, the game will be called Madden NFL 25. EA Sports is looking to include actual NFL referees in the game, with all 17 head officials getting their faces scanned in the game. Pro Football Hall of Famer Barry Sanders was chosen as the cover athlete for Madden NFL 25 on the April 24, 2013.
Mario Kart Wii U (Wii U) was announced in the Wii U Nintendo Direct on January 23, 2013. Nintendo confirmed that more information will be presented at E3 2013. It is rumored that the game will have new elements such as customizing bikes and designing your own tracks.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii U) will be the seventh main installment in the Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell series of video games developed and published by Ubisoft. The game is said to explore the “root themes” of the series. Studio head Jade Raymond has stated that the game will still have the “action flick elements” from the series’ previous games, but also explore “…something a little bit more interesting that is actually one of the themes that’s at the root of the franchise historically, but never has been surfaced so much.”
Super Smash Bros. (Wii U, 3DS) is an upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS video game in the Super Smash Bros. series. It is being developed by Namco Bandai Games, and directed by series creator Masahiro Sakurai. The game was announced at E3 2011 by Nintendo PresidentSatoru Iwata. During the presentation he confirmed that both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game will feature some sort of cross-platfrom connectivity. The game has been confirmed to appear at E3 this year.
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y (3DS) are the upcoming video games of the Generation VI series. They’re also the first two Pokémon video games that comes in the main game series for the Nintendo 3DS. These will be the first video games of the Pokémon series that will be released worldwide with exception of different countries. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be released on October 2013, but the official release date of the video games is still unknown.
Watch Dogs (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC) is an open world game, taking place in Chicago in 2012, being developed by Ubisoft. In it, the players, controlling a character named Aiden Pearce, “have the power to control an entire city’s infrastructure via powerful computers that run everything from data records to power lines.” The player can gain information about anyone, via Pearce’s profiler. The player can meddle with any electrical output that runs on the grid, in ways such as jamming all mobile phone reception in his immediate area, and even short out traffic lights causing a major car accident. The game also has seamless co-op.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS4, PC) is the recently announced third and final installment in the series of games by CD Projekt RED featuring witcher Geralt of Rivia. The game is scheduled to be released sometime in 2014 and will be set in an open world, unlike the previous games. The game will also be built using the new REDengine3.
