During last night’s British Academy Games Awards, Bungie took home the Best Game award for their latest space adventure-epic, Destiny.

While the win isn’t Bungie’s first BAFTA Award, it is its first outside of the Halo franchise; a notable achievement, considering the long road the studio took to get to where it is now. Bungie’s President, Harold Ryan, took to the stage to thank Destiny‘s players for making the game the success that it is.

It’s always a labour of love that we do because of the passion of the fans,” said Ryan. “They really are the ones who drive you to put the energy and time into putting the game together.”

The Best Game category, according to the BAFTA requirements, is awarded to “the best game of the year, across all genres and platforms.”

Other notable awards include David Braben (of the Elite franchise’s Frontier Developments) winning the Games Fellowship Award, Alien: Isolation winning the Audio Achievement Award, and Far Cry 4 winning the Music Award.
