A week or so after the – for some, relative – success of Batman: Arkham Knight, and Warner Bros. Montreal are back on the market looking for people to work on a new open-world game.

The studio has listed various different key roles on their job page; there are snippets of information about their next game embedded in the job descriptions.

For the game designer, Warner Bros. have said they’re looking for someone ‘responsible for designing and driving development of specific features or systems for an open-world action game.’ Batman: Arkham Knight just recently outsold the Witcher 3; could the studio be looking to make a rival open-world game?

It is going to be a big project set to come out on next-gen consoles, as the technical director job description states that if hired, the person will join the development team ‘working on a new IP project for next generation platforms.’

There are hints that the game will be made on Epic’s Unreal Engine, one of the most powerful game engines around at the moment. The technical director also needs to know the ‘scripting languages and design tools of the Unreal Engine.’

Warner Bros. Montreal received a $1.5 million grant from the government in October 2013 in order to expand the studio’s employees and technology capabilities. This is the first glance to another project other than Batman and Lego Legends of Chima (a browser and iOS game), which could spell the beginning of a surge of game development to come.
