Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have unleashed a new trailer from the world of blood and fire. The upcoming Mad Max game, from Just Cause’s Avalanche Studios, gets an action-packed new trailer providing a look at the game’s Strongholds. These fortified outposts, occupied by a number unique characters and stories, are scattered throughout the wasteland for the player to find.

“In a world where Max faces both his internal and external enemies, these strongholds hold the pieces essential to the puzzle he tries to solve,” reads the official press release. “Max will need to make some uneasy alliances as he prepares to take on merciless Wasteland tyrant, Scrotus.”

Interestingly not tied in with the recent critically acclaimed film, Mad Max: Fury Road, the game sees the player cast as Max as he sets off into The Wasteland in an all new adventure.

With nothing but his badass name, Max must build the ultimate road beast, his Magnum Opus, a fully upgradable and customisable car. As well as the Magnum Opus, Max’s armour, weapons and combat skills can be upgrades and customised.

Mad Max comes to Xbox One, PS4 and PC on September 1st.
