The service was first announced in June of this year, along with statistics showing that gaming content was high on the list of most popular content searched for on both YouTube and Google. YouTube Gaming automatically pulls from gaming-related content so that user searches will be more relevant. For example, typing ‘blood’ into the search bar will come up with ‘Bloodborne’, as opposed to Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood”.’

Last year, Google-owned YouTube reportedly tried to buy popular video game live streaming site Twitch, but the deal fell through. Online retail juggernaut Amazon went on to purchase the site for nearly $1 billion.
