CD Projekt Red has issued a statement confirming they are not looking for a buyer.

Yesterday, a report was circulated claiming CD Projekt Red, the Polish studio behind The Witcher RPG franchise and online download store GOG.com was in acquisition talks with EA, but co-founder and joint-CEO Marcin Iwinski has firmly put those rumours to bed.

“We are not talking with anyone regarding selling CD Projekt Red or GOG,com. Period.” was what Iwinski said in a statement to Eurogamer. Iwinski also decried the payslip in the report from a supposed CD Projekt Red employee, simply saying that “The payslip is a fake; it was not issued by our company.”

Although the extra support behind CD Projekt Red could lead to bigger projects from them, it’s good to see they will stick totally to their own guns and work by themselves and just produce good games. Plus, with the success of GOG.com and the praise of The Witcher III (and anticipation for the Hearts of Stone expansion) we will no doubt continue to see great things come from CD Projekt for some time. We still have Blood and Wine in 2016 and Cyberpunk 2077 to look forward to as well!
