Bethesda has announced the first details about Fallout 4’s DLC. The publisher will offer a $30 Season Pass that comes with all of the Fallout 4 DLC they ever do. Bethesda doesn’t yet know what form this content may take, but we won’t see it until 2016.

“Since we’re still hard at work on the game, we don’t know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year. Based on what we did for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, we know that it will be worth at least $40, and if we do more, you’ll get it all with the Season Pass.”

Comparatively, Bethesda released five paid DLC expansions for Fallout 3. These were Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta, all of which came with new quests, items, achievements, and more. It looks like we can expect the same from Fallout 4’s DLC.

In addition to DLC, Bethesda says it is planning regular free updates for Fallout 4. As was the case for Skyrim, these will introduce fixes and as well as new features. Some of Skyrim’s post-launch new features included mounted combat, a kill cam, and a legendary mode, visual enhancements and more.

“We’ll work with all of you to figure out what new things you’d love to see added to Fallout 4, whether they are small tweaks or new features,” said Bethesda.

Much like Skyrim, Fallout 4’s world will continue to expand through mods. The game’s Creation Kit, the same tool Bethesda’s own designers use at the studio, will arrive on PC in early 2016, allowing people to introduce all sorts of wonderful creations into the world. As previously announced, mods will shortly after come to Xbox One, and now confirmed, also PS4.

“The most important thing in our games is the freedom you have to create your own experience, and modding is a big part of that,” said Bethesda. “Like all our previous games, we’ve made sure to keep Fallout 4 open and moddable at every step in development.”

Fallout 4 launches on November 10th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
