At the $1.75 million stretch goal ‘Love & Hate’ was added. This feature brings dynamic relationships to the game. Players will be able to form friendships and rivalries with other characters. Also included is romance gameplay, allowing in-game characters to fall in love. Included in the funding of this feature is more writers and scripters working on the dynamics between characters.

When the campaign reached $1.85 million a metamorphosis feature was added called Mask of the Shapeshifter. The developer promises opportunities to change your character’s form and along with it, how you would interact with the world around you. “One moment you’re a lizard, the next and ordinary human, with completely different dialog options (and visuals of course).”

Finally, at the $2 million stretch goal, Divinity: Original Sin II gets a Game Master Mode. Players will have access to an editor to build their own complex worlds. The Game Master can even change the dungeon while players are going through it! If players are getting a little cocky, you can add in some extra enemies to bring them down a peg.

Larian is also partnering with CD Projekt, developer of The Witcher, for digital distribution on GOG.com. As part of the deal, GOG has pledged $10,000 to the campaign. These partners will also be working with the community to develop a character that will be implemented into the game. You can submit character ideas here.

Divinity: Original Sin II is set to release December 2016. The ‘original’ Original Sin was named Game of the Year for 2014 by a number of media outlets and you can look forward to an improved experience including four-player co-op, new crafting and skill systems, and competitive questing.
