Mirror’s Edge Catalyst delayed

Though originally set for a February 23rd release date next year, DICE announced today Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is being delayed until May 24th. Senior producer Sara Jansson broke the sad news today with a post on the game’s website explaining, “We will use these few extra months to make sure that when you step into the massive City of Glass and experience the rise of Faith, it’s as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be.”Jansson stressed the ambitious nature of the game overall, saying the goals the team have established for themselves will take time. “We set out to create a vast city to explore, full of stunning vistas, majestic skyscrapers, and mysterious tunnels. We’re building the most immersive action-adventure game with fluid movement and combat in first person. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be an all-new playground with a deeper and more engaging story - and we want to accomplish all these goals to the highest quality possible.”

Shown off with an impressive gameplay trailer back in August, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is the second entry in the Mirror’s Edge series. Following a free-running courier, Faith, the game features first person parkour where running is always a better option than trying to fight.

Both Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Far Cry Primal are still scheduled to release February 23rd. How do you feel about Mirror’s Edge Catalyst being delayed? Let us know in the comments.
