Bioshock is a "permanent franchise," says Take-Two

The Bioshock series has gained much popularity both with the public and critics alike, so when Irrational Games decided to disband, many were worried that Bioshock: Infinite would be the last in the series. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick had recently discussed at the MKM Partners Conference the future of the Bioshock series, as well as Borderlands."[Bioshock] is in the hands of the 2K group and they'll make announcements in due time about any upcoming releases, but Bioshock is unquestionably a permanent franchise for our company and one that we do believe in," he stated.

It sounds like we’ll eventually hear something about the next Bioshock game in a year or so, which isn’t too hard to imagine. Since 2007, there’s only been three entries into the series: Bioshock, Bioshock 2, and Bioshock: Infinite. Hopefully we’ll be told about the next title directly by them when the time is right and not leaked by Kotaku.
