After announcing the promotion of Tony “Zikzlol” Gray to the head coach position, Counter Logic Gaming has announced today that they’re looking for a “Player Development Coach.”

According to the posting on their website, the Player Development Coach would assist the Head Coach in the team’s management and primarily facilitate an amiable environment within the team. This seems to be in response to the release of Yilang “Doublelift” Peng and the issues he allegedly caused within the team.

Zach “Nien” Malhas, Shin “Seraph” Wu-Yeong, and Austin “Link” Shin, former players for the Counter Logic Gaming organisation, all complained about the negative effect Doublelift had on the team’s morale and his general behavior, with Link famously writing a 17 page Google Document delineating his grievances with the organisation. Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black, the current support for CLG and the player who had the most experience with Doublelift, allegedly told the CLG organisation that he refused to play another season with Doublelift and that it if Doublelift wasn’t released he would leave.

The CLG organisation has over gone significant changes after the 2015 World Championship. Eugene “Pobelter” Park was benched from his position of starting mid laner and eventually released. Chris “Blurred Limes” Ehrenreich, the team’s former head coach, was also released.

CLG will play at IEM San Jose later this month. As it currently stands, the team has not announced a new starter in the AD Carry position.
