Planet Coaster getting shown off in new dev diary video

UK studio Frontier Developments has decided to ground themselves from the world of Elite Dangerous and have been working on a new title called Planet Coaster. The new rollercoaster and general theme park simulator will be released on PC later this year, although a specific date hasn't been revealed yet.The 5 minutes dev diary video shows a few Frontier developers discussing what they believe makes Planet Coaster stand out. Everything from the track-building tools to the terrain editor were showed off, as well as getting into the game's sharing functionality a bit. Users can publish their parks and such online for other people to play with and check out.

Frontier, surprisingly, has a history of theme park simulators. They actually developed RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, along with some Thrillville titles. A new RollerCoaster Tycoon title from Atari is also launching this year, so the comparison between the two seems all but inevitable.
