Pokemon Blue and Red soundtrack to get vinyl edition

Gamespresso Journalism

While most 90’s kids are used to CD players and GameBoys, the 21st century hipster has taken a few technological steps back and have brought with them a revival of vinyls. With the Pokemon franchise’s 20th year anniversary, what better way to celebrate with a limited edition vinyl?

Moonshake Records will be releasing 500 copies of the original Pokemon Red and Blue soundtrack. The vinyl itself is a red and white swirl wax that’s reminiscent of the classic Pokeball. As well, the vinyl cover has a 1960’s sort of vibe, with a Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band look. It’s even replaced the classic Sgt. Pepper’s drum with a tie-dye Pokeball.

The vinyls run $50 a piece, and while they haven’t gone up for pre-order yet, you can sign up for an email alert on the vinyl’s page. It’s weird to think that we live in a time where we’ve re-popularized the vinyl, but music never looked so good as it does now.
