Final Fantasy XI shuts down console servers

It has been over a decade since Final Fantasy XI was first introduced to the world. Since then it has gone through many changes from updates, to consoles ports, expansion packs, and more. Sadly, it is time for some players to say goodbye to the world of Vana'diel.If you own an Xbox 360 or PS2, I hope you have accomplished everything you dreamed of the day you began your journey at level 1. The servers for Final Fantasy XI for these consoles have officially shut down. Not everything is lost though. For those who feel their quest is incomplete, their accounts can be transferred over to PC by following a specific set of instructions. There is also a mobile version of the game coming at some point this year.

If you still feel a hole that needs to be filled, you can always move to Final Fantasy XIV, the more recent MMORPG. Final Fantasy XV was also recently announced to be coming this September. There is plenty of great worlds from Square Enix to dive into.
