Gears of War celebrates its Valentines Day event starting February 10th with Gear Packs, a new craftable character, a returning Torque Bow Tag event, and Valentines bounties.

The new patch will introduce new Impact Dark maps, which are the normal Impact combat maps, with changes that turn them on their head. “For the first time in Gears of War Versus, visibility is permanently reduced by smoke that has settled over the battlefield, forcing you closer to the action.”

Weapon swaps have been changed on these maps to alter combat significantly, keeping players on their toes, making them rethink their PvP encounters.

The classic War Machine map is back, with a slightly different locale. It has moved from the abandoned train station map to a new COG Settlement, a bright and beautiful place to get into a deadly gunfight. All the beloved parts will stay, including frantic fights for the Sniper, and the turret which changes the course of battle.

Impact Dark maps and War Machine are now available in the Developer Playlist for Season Pass Holders with double XP and 20% Bonus Credits.

More news on special Gears of War 4 Valentines events will be put on the official Xbox website this week.
