Silent Hills Petition Hopes to Save Troubled Game

Many gamers were disheartened by the news earlier this week that the highly anticipated Silent Hills, a return title for the series, had been cancelled by Konami.Some dedicated fans, however, refuse to let the project die. A new petition on Change.org is calling for the creative duo of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro to "please continue development on Silent Hills."

Many gamers were disheartened by the news earlier this week that the highly anticipated Silent Hills, a return title for the series, had been cancelled by Konami.

Some dedicated fans, however, refuse to let the project die. A new petition on Change.org is calling for the creative duo of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro to “please continue development on Silent Hills.”

Furthermore, the creators of the petition are calling for signers’ financial assistance, stating that “If the issue is money related, we would love to see a crowdfunding campaign like Kickstarter to ensure you are getting all the financial help there is!”

The petition currently has over 23,000 signatures at the time of this article, bringing it close to its established goal of 25,000. Whether or not this petition will sway minds and make a difference remains to be seen.
