The developers who brought you the wonderful and charming LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule, are going to be sharing more information about their upcoming game ‘Dreams’ for Sony’s PS4 at Paris Games Week.

Dreams, which we got a look at during Sony’s E3 conference this year, is taking the creativity from LBP to the next level – it was described by Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida as ‘a next-gen creation platform’. As interesting and amazing as the gameplay we were shown looked, there’s still a lot of things we don’t know about Dreams.

It’s clear that it is based on the players imagination, where you can choose to create games of your own, or just draw and animate masterpieces. This is taking it a step further than LBP, because you were mainly expanding the action game’s universe, and now you’re doing what you want with the tools provided. This game is for the creators; although we’re not sure how the community side it will work, it’s essentially an open platform for people to share their creativity.

‘The basic concept is to make creation more intuitive, and putting that in the hands of people who aren’t trained to use the complex 3D packages. But make the artistic person feel like they’re creating art as if they’re doing it in real life.

We are envisioning artists or musicians will contribute something they’re really good at, and share it with lots of people. It’s a community of creators where anyone can take anyone’s creations and mash-ups to create even grander projects, including games.’

He explained, during a GameSpot E3 Stream, giving us some insight into what the developers want the users to take away from their game. Or perhaps, more fittingly, what they want people to put into the game.

Dream’s appearance at Sony’s E3 was supposed to get people excited, a tease, before a more in-depth demo that will be shown at Paris Games Week.

While aspects like an adorable bear taking on a horde of zombies, or two polar bears walking through the snow have our interests peaked, we’ll have to wait to know what else the game has to offer. There’s no release date confirmed yet either, so you’ll have to wait and see.
