CD Projekt Red were the masterminds behind The Witcher game series. The most recent installment of the game has 16 pieces of free downloadable contents. The last free dlc released was the new game plus mode. This mode was made available on Monday.

Marcin Iwinski, CD Projekt Red co-founder and CEO, was pleased to see that many people tried out the free dlc. Marcin stated, “I would really like to see such initiatives become an industry standard rather than an exception to the general rule, and I hope that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has set a good example.”

Most of the free dlc were small little game updates. They included armor, missions, alternative looks, and hairstyles. Other game developers would’ve charged a fee for such content. Marcin believed his customers deserved the free content because some paid the full price of the game ($60).

The Witcher 3 will have paid downloadable contents, but they will be worth it. The Witcher 3 has two expansions coming out. Hearts of Stone will be released in October, and Blood and Wine will be released in 2016. The expansions will have around 30 hours of gameplay in total. Marcin states the expansions will have new and emotional stories, and he believes fans will be pleased.
