Freemode Events are games and challenges that will be introduced into online lobbies without players having to wait in lobbies. These events will fully use the hardware available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, which means that this DLC will probably be excluded in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of GTA V.

Freemode Events can start at any given moment in an online lobby, but players can customize the lobby to include the events that they would like to occur, “So you can play as much or as little of this new content as you like,” Rockstar stated.

The events offer many different variations and players can earn cash and RP by participating in them. Rockstar also announced that the September 15th update will bring the Rockstar Editor to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Check out the trailer below:

A list of the announced GTA V Online Freemode Events can be seen below:

King of the Castle: Players must fight against every other player and claim the designated area or “castle” for themselves, and then defend the territory from incoming attacks.

Hunt the Beast: One player is transformed into a beast with increased speed and strength. The beast must escape incoming pursuers.

Hunting Pack: A team must deliver a priority vehicle that will explode if it falls below a certain speed. Opponents will attempt to slow down the car and cause it to self-destruct.

Cross the Line: Heavily armed teams face off in a neutral zone and attempt to penetrate the enemies’ territory.
