In a recent post on the PlayStation blog Ryan Juckett, a gameplay programmer at Bungie, announced a new top-down strategy shooter called Inversus.

Inversus is a spatial black and white strategy shooter where players aim to shoot the other person, but can only move on the opposite color of their avatar. Players shoot blocks to change the color of the board and create lanes or trap the enemy. Map design is very intentional in this game as the screen “seamlessly wraps on all sides.”

There are two modes in the game, Versus and Arcade. Versus lets players face off against each other in a 1v1 or 2v2 format. Arcade lets players face off against the computer with an AI that learns player’s strategies and presents new challenges. Leaderboards will be featured in the game pushing players to move that next spot up on the board. Inversus launches Spring 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PC.
